Dr. Season Cowley currently serves as the Instructor of Clarinet at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Instructor of Woodwinds at Hastings College, and Principal Clarinet with the Hastings Symphony Orchestra. She has been invited to perform at the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest® conferences and New Music Weekend, College Music Society regional and national conferences, and NACWPI national conferences as a soloist, with ppp Trio, and other chamber ensembles. An advocate of music by living composers, Cowley has commissioned and premiered works by composers such as Eric Mandat and Krista Vázquez-Connelly. Recent awards as a soloist include First Prize for the 2023 Charleston International 20th Century Music Competition and Third Prize for the 2021 Charleston International Contemporary Music Competition.

Cowley currently serves on the Membership and Development Committee for the International Clarinet Association, having previously served on the Health and Wellness Committee. She also served as a member of the Artistic Leadership Team for ClarinetFest® 2025. An active member in the music community, she was elected as Secretary-Treasurer for the Lincoln Musicians Association, Local 463 American Federation of Musicians after serving on the Executive Board in 2025. She also works in arts administration for Nebraska nonprofit organizations, such as the Lincoln Municipal Band, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, and Nebraska Brass to name a few.

She joined the faculty at UNO in 2023, Hastings College in 2022, and previously served as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Woodwinds at Johnson County Community College from 2016–17. Cowley earned their DMA in clarinet performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and MM in clarinet performance from Southern Illinois University, where they studied with Dr. Diane Barger and Dr. Eric Mandat respectively.
